Considered cosmetic treatments, individually planned around you.

Cosmetic injectable treatments can be used to address a range of aesthetic concerns, from changes in facial movement and expression through to volume loss, facial balance and age-related changes.

At Medicosmetics, treatment begins with you, not a product or a predetermined treatment plan.

We assess your facial anatomy, proportions, movement, skin quality and areas of concern before discussing the options that may be appropriate for you. Every treatment plan is individual, with a focus on subtle refinement, facial balance and results that remain recognisably yours.

UNDERSTANDING COSMETIC INJECTABLE TREATMENTS.

Cosmetic injectable treatments do not all work in the same way. Broadly, some treatments are used to temporarily alter muscle activity, while others are designed to restore or enhance facial volume, structure and proportion.

Understanding that difference is an important part of deciding what may be appropriate for your concerns.

WRINKLE-REDUCING TREATMENTS
Treating movement and expression

Wrinkle-reducing treatments use prescription-only medicines that temporarily reduce the activity of selected facial muscles.

They are commonly considered where repeated facial movement contributes to the development or appearance of expression lines, such as around the forehead, frown area and outer eye area.

These treatments do not add volume to the face. Instead, treatment is carefully planned according to your individual facial movement, muscle strength, anatomy and desired outcome.

The aim at Medicosmetics is not necessarily to remove all movement. We focus on balancing movement and softening its effect while maintaining natural facial expression where clinically appropriate.

Because these treatments involve prescription-only medicines, an individual clinical assessment and prescribing consultation is required before treatment.

VOLUME & STRUCTURAL TREATMENTS

Volume and structural treatments work differently.

Rather than altering muscle activity, these treatments may be used to address changes in facial volume, contour, proportion or structural support.

As we age, changes occur not only in the skin but also within facial fat, bone and supporting tissues. This can alter facial proportions, contours and the way different areas of the face relate to one another.

Following assessment, treatment may be considered for concerns involving areas such as the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline and other areas of facial volume or proportion.

Our approach is not simply to "fill" an area. We consider the face as a whole and plan treatment according to anatomy, proportion, existing volume and the outcome you are hoping to achieve.

SO, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Wrinkle-reducing treatments primarily affect muscle movement.

Volume and structural treatments primarily address volume, contour, proportion and support.

They are different treatments with different purposes, and one is not automatically a substitute for the other.

Some patients may benefit from one approach, some from a combination of treatments, and others may be better suited to completely different options such as PDO threads, Skin Regeneration or Skin Therapy.

You don't need to decide which one you need before booking.

Tell us what you see, what concerns you and what you would like to improve. Your consultation is where we determine which treatment options, if any, may be appropriate.

WHAT CAN WE ADDRESS?

Patients may seek cosmetic consultation for concerns including:

Expression lines & facial movement
Assessment of dynamic facial movement and lines that become more noticeable with expression or over time.

Facial volume changes
Ageing can result in changes to facial volume, support and proportion. Treatment planning considers where these changes have occurred and how they affect the face as a whole.

Facial balance & proportion
Assessment of individual facial features and their relationship to one another, with treatment planned to maintain or improve overall facial harmony.

Lip shape & proportion
Individual assessment of lip shape, symmetry, proportion and age-related changes, with consideration given to the lips in relation to the surrounding facial features.

Lower face & jawline
Assessment of facial contours, structural changes, tissue support and concerns affecting definition through the lower face.

Age-related facial changes
Rather than treating individual lines in isolation, we can assess the combined changes occurring through the face and develop a considered treatment plan.

OUR APPROACH

We don't believe cosmetic treatment should make everybody look the same.

Your facial anatomy, proportions and expressions are individual to you. Our role is not to remove every line or change the characteristics that make your face yours.

Instead, treatment planning focuses on understanding what concerns you, identifying the anatomical factors contributing to it and discussing an appropriate approach based on your individual needs.

Sometimes that may involve one treatment. Sometimes a staged approach or combination of cosmetic and regenerative therapies may be more appropriate.

And sometimes, the best recommendation is not to treat at all.

NATURAL DOESN'T MEAN UNTREATED.

Natural-looking cosmetic treatment isn't necessarily about doing less. It's about doing what is appropriate, in the right areas, for the right reasons.

We consider facial movement, symmetry, proportion, volume, tissue support and skin quality together rather than treating isolated features without considering their relationship to the rest of the face

The aim is refinement without losing expression, character or the features that make you look like you.

YOUR CONSULTATION

All prescription cosmetic treatments require appropriate clinical assessment and prescribing before treatment.

Your consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns, medical history, previous treatments and desired outcome. Your facial anatomy and suitability for treatment will be assessed, and where appropriate, available treatment options, expected outcomes, risks and alternatives will be discussed.

Where prescription treatment is clinically appropriate, the required prescribing process will be completed before treatment proceeds.

There is never an obligation to proceed following consultation.

FAQ & ANSWERS

  • Some cosmetic treatments involve prescription-only medicines.

Australian regulations restrict the public advertising of prescription medicines and associated treatment pricing. This means we cannot present these services in the same way as our non-prescription treatments, with traditional product menus and publicly advertised prices.

It isn't about hiding the cost.

Following your consultation and assessment, appropriate options can be discussed privately, and you will receive clear individual pricing before deciding whether you would like to proceed.

For services that can be publicly priced, please visit our Price Guide.

  • You don't need to know exactly what treatment you need before booking.

In fact, we'd rather you tell us what concerns you than arrive having decided which treatment or product you think you require.

Book a consultation, tell us what you would like to address, and we'll guide you through the options that may be appropriate.

  • We know cost matters.

Australian regulations limit the pricing information we can publicly provide for treatments involving prescription-only medicines.

We don't want you proceeding without understanding the financial commitment, so individual treatment options and pricing are discussed openly during consultation and provided before you decide whether to proceed.

  • The right treatment starts with the right conversation.

Not sure where to begin? That’s completely fine. You don’t need to know treatment names, products or exactly what you need before booking with Medicosmetics.

Our consultations are designed to understand what concerns you, what you would like to achieve and what treatment options may be appropriate for you.

Whether you simply need some initial guidance or would like a comprehensive assessment and personalised treatment plan, we offer different consultation options depending on the level of time and planning you need.

For more complex concerns, multiple treatment areas or patients wanting a longer-term cosmetic plan, we recommend booking a dedicated consultation so there is adequate time to assess, discuss and plan without feeling rushed.

You bring the concerns. We’ll help you understand the options.
